Blonde hair dye help - Again =]?

Well, my natural colour is very dar blonde I suppose. I'm looking to go this color:

http://t0.ca/media/photos/4152/100021.jpg

Anyways, I've died it lighter blonde then blonde which came out redish - brownish . So, after a few weeks I've just had today some blonde hi-lights. Four of which were bleach.

My Mom would absolutely kill me if she knew I wanted to dye it again, considering it costed me £50! And my Dad would kill me too. [Not literally......]. Plus If I say something like "I want this colour and I'll do loads of work!" She'll say something like "Grrrr I've wasted to much money on your hair!" Then she'll tell my Dad and he'll say something like "you're never having your hair done again!". So basically I've dyed my hair quite a lot, and I don't want to end up with straw, I don't want to use lemon juice or anything.

Anyway, can anyone tell me how long to wait to break it to her. And can anyone tell me which hair dye or w/e to do to get this colour?

Please helpppp!

=] Thanx..

i would wait at least a week if not two

Can someone help me?

1.When dissolved in water, all acids will

a.form hydroxide ions. c.conduct electricity.

b.have a negative charge. d.turn blue.

2.The label on a bottle indicates that the substance inside has a pH of 13. This tells you that the substance is

a.neutral. c.mildly basic.

b.strongly acidic. d.strongly basic.

3.Which substance, when added to milk, causes the milk to curdle?

a.lemon juice c.baking soda

b.yogurt d.sugar

4.Which acid is a strong electrolyte?

a.sulfuric acid c.formic acid

b.acetic acid d.citric acid

5.Which base is a weak electrolyte?

a.sodium hydroxide c.calcium hydroxide

b.potassium hydroxide d.ammonia

6.Which acid-base reaction will yield an acidic solution?

a.HCl and Ca(OH)2 c.H2SO4 and KOH

b.HNO3 and NH3 d.HCOOH and NaOH

7.Bleach should never be mixed with ammonia or with

a.acid. c.water.

b.detergent. d.soap.

1 (c)

2 (d)

3 (a)

4 (a)

5 (c)

6 (a)

7 (a)

1-c.conduct electricity.

2-d.strongly basic.

3-b.yogurt

4-a.sulfuric acidc.

5-d.ammonia

6-b.HNO3 and NH3

7-a.acid

1. c) conduct electricity

because of the dissociation of the acid (HA) into H+ and A-

2. d) strongly basic

if it was neutral, the ph would have been 7. if it was acidic, the ph would have been less than 7. If it was midly basic, the ph would have been greater than 7 but less than about 10. Because the ph is near 14, it is very strongly basic.

3. a) lemon juice

because unlike the other substances, lemon juice is acidic.

Milk already is slightly acidic therefore adding an acid to it lower its ph value

4. a) sulfuric acid

it ionizes completely (100%) therefore it conducts electricty very well as opposed to all the other acids cited.

5) d) ammonia

it doesn't ionize nor does it dissociate into ions

6) b) HNO3 and NH3

option (a) and (b) feature a strong acid and a strong base which means their solution is about neutral. Option (d) is a weak acid and a strong base which means the solution is basic. Finally, (c) is a strong acid and a weak base which means the solution is acidic

7) a) acid

Does anyone know where I can find a 1971-72 Dodge Demon? Only reply if you have or know of a car for sale?

My brother is crazy about these cars I was hoping someone might know about one that isn't being whored out by e-bay or collector car trader. We've seen two in our local craigs list, the lemon twist yellow one for 24k and a beat up six banger. My brother would like to buy a running, straight body v8 car with very minimal rust if any (lol). His range is 2-10k for the right car. We are in Northern CA.

Yep, I do.

Help, please? He put so much effort into my gift... what to do?!?

Oh my gosh, well, my boyfriend (recently best friend, we just started dating), Nathaniel went to California, and I really missed him, so today, when I came home from school, he was at my house, to surprise me, and he was like, "I got you something from California!" He got me this amazing light pink beret with a sparkly lemon yellow flower in it, and this like, metallic purple jacket, and he painted the "Hollywood" sign and the hills behind it on a canvas (he's a really amazing artist), and I told him I was going to hang it in my room. I'm very into the whole blitzy, Hollywood stuff. That's my room theme... Hollywood. Also, his birthday went by when he was in CA, so I got him a gift. I got him these red and black checkered pants, and a black and white plaid scarf (Like, the folded kind... I don't know how to describe it), and Acrylic paints (like, really nice one.) Oh, and he's metro... really into fashion and everything, so this is a normal thing that someone would give to hi
m. And please, no comments about him being metro... Anyways, I feel bad because he spent so long working on that painting for me, in addition to buying the clothes, and I just went out and bought him his gift. I know he put a lot of thought and effort into that painting... I don't know what to do... I was thinking of painting him something too... I'm pretty good at painting, too, but not nearly as good as him. I don't know what to do, though. And I don't want to "steal his idea." I know that sounds very juvenile, the way I put that, but you know what I'm saying... I wanna be original... I don't know what to do, though? Help, please?

aww sooo cute.

ok well you should like write a list of like 3 pages of everything you like about him or something and on those pages you can draw like stick figures or real artsy drawings or whatever of like something cheesy like you and him holding hands or something lol.

idk just a thought.

Well, you should get a canvas and make everyone sigh it, like everyone in his old class + you. If you dont like that, get a picture of you and him, then buy a frame that you can decorate, go all out with it, HAVE FUN! GooddLuck:)

im sure the gift is enough. you seem like you are trying too hard.

ask him on a little date to go out and eat or like a walk through the park.

make him a dvd or something

that would be so nice :)

If you want to be original then copying his idea is not good. I'm sure he was just as pleased with your present anyway. Perhaps you could write him a poem or something.

Take some cool photographs and make an album or scrap book.

get him a postcard from your town and say, i really missed you, or something cheesy like that

if you know him well, than you should just make or buy something tht u think he will like

give him a kiss or a date

do somthein he'll like

Im a little scared.. is it safe to tan?

it was a warm day today so i decided to lay outside and get a little tan [i live near san francisco, CA]. i put SPF 70 sunscreen on [I KNOW its really high but im pale and i have to or else i burn instead of tan] and lemon juice in my hair and layed in the sun for 2 hours because it felt so good. in the end my skin turned a shade or so darker. i want to do this again tomorrow [because i cant do it during the week, i have school] so i was looking on the internet for how to get a good tan and i came across an article on CNN.com about the dangers of tanning and i really shouldnt have read that. i heard all of these stories about how so many people died tragically because of skin cancer or sun poisoning. now im scared to get a tan.. is it okay to do it maybe 2-3 times a month??

I worked in the tanning industry for several years so I'll try and "shed some light on the situation!" (get it? ok ok.. bad joke :-P) anyway, you know your skin best. To Burn is Bad. But Tanning (indoor or outdoor) can be quite helpful for supplementing the all important but commonly deficient Vitamin D (aka the sunshine vitamin). Tip is to do it little by little, slowly build up your base. Using an SPF 70 for only a couple hours outside is definitely being careful.. back to back tanning days are a little different. Sometimes your skin is still actively changing due to the previous days UV exposure. You could do the exact same thing (70 SPF, couple hours) and this time burn. This could be different with a developed base tan. The upside of using tanning salons is that it is a controlled environment (choose the intensity and time) whereas outside the UV levels fluctuate and it's easy to fall asleep outside! the sun does not have an OFF switch!

2-3 times/month is very mild and when you follow the correct tanning regimes (little by little) you will get a healthy (and needed) dose of Vitamin D!

Oh yes hun! if your only going to do it 2-3 times month than you should be fine!!

Its ppl who do it every day or several times a week that are at high risk.

Just make sure you see your Dr. right away if you notice any new unusual Moles on your skin :)

You should NOT tan, You can get skin cancer and die, you are only young so I think u should not risk it! But if you think you need to don't use a machine, you can die from using one of those ONCE!

No

not unless u hav

sunscreeen on

a hat

sunnies

or else eventually ull get skiin cancer

havnt u seen the ads

evn if ur standing in the sun u can get skin cancer

2-3 times a month?! you can do it like 2-3 times a week and you'll be fine.

Which would be a better science project? A or B?

A) Get 3 small plants that are just babies and just starting to grow. To one of the plants, add some fertalizer ever day for a week. For another one of the plants add egg shells or bits of banana peels for a week and for the other do nothing but water and give it sun. Which plant should grow the most? How and why?

B) Using lemons, clips, zinc coated nails, pennies and a LED lightbulb, connect 4 peices of lemon together by connecting one end of the clip to the zinc nail (negative end) and the other end of the clip to the copper penny (positive end) once all of these are connected, the LED light should light up a bit. Using the acids in the lemon, you have created a battery using decomposable materials instead of energys, etc. If you do not fully understand this go to: http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=oABk_KI5Ilo&feature=related Thanks for the help! =)

i would say both but if i had to choose one i would say b

The first one is easiest and everything you need is simple to get but the second one would look more impressive

want an A+??

then pick b

I have some questions?

are these acidic, almost neutral, or basic?

vinegar, lemon juice, tomato juice, milk, and household ammonia

write a balanced equation for the reaction between CO2 gas and limewater, Ca(OH)2. what is the name of the milky precipitate that forms?

Calcium Carbonate is what forms I think.

With emphasis on the word think.

Calcium carbonate is correct:

(1) CH4 (g) + 2 O2 (g) CO2 (g) + 2 H2O (g)

(2) CO2 (g) + H2O (l) H2CO3 (aq) 2 H+ (aq) + CO3-2 (aq)

(3) Ca2+ (aq) + CO32- (aq) CaCO3 (s)

vinegar, acidic

lemon juice, acidic

tomato juice, acidic

milk, basic

household ammonia basic

Acids: Vinegar, Lemon Juice,

Alkaline (basic): Ammonia,

Tomato juice ph is 4.1 I would say acidic

Milk is neutral ph 6.6

Calcium Carbonate is CaCO3 which is a common formula for antacids.

I need advice/help with understanding the lemon law and to see if my mum has a case here.?

She has a new Nissan Versa with barely 20,000 miles on it. The problem it’s having is the squealing sound coming from applying the brakes. With the slightest touch it squeals. It sort of sounds something a live pig might do at a slaughter house or something. It’s really loud and annoying too. Easily could be heard from a third of a mile away.

I drove it a few times these last few days and it’s painfully loud. It hurt my ears so I can imagine what it does to my mums ears and other drivers.

Anyways The problem first occurred at about 3500 miles and we took it in for service but all the dealership did was put some brake quiet spray on the pads then about 500 miles after that date of service the squealing sound came back and again it was taken it in. It’s been taken in for service 4 times now, going on 5 with the exact same problem and the dealership mechanics still haven’t taken care of the problem.

Does my mum have a lemon law case??

I was researching about the lemon law on this site but want a better understanding from others...

http://www.dca.ca.gov/acp/

Thank you for all your help. Greatly appreciated.

1. Borrow mum's car.

2. Get drunk (I'll help).

3. Push the car off a cliff.

4. Say you "lost control."

5. Sit back and let Mum collect insurance.

I don't think it applies to parts that wear out like that but what they should do is change the brakes out to see if that fixes the problem and that way they can narrow down what the problem might be.

do you have a mechanic that you otherwise go to? If so,let them check it out and present the dealership with the bill. They apparently aren't fixing the problem.

Good luck!

just fit anti-squeal shims behind the pads

check under the hood for a chipmunk

Possibly, certainly noise from a brake signals that it is not functioning as designed. This could be a serious safety issue. I think I would write a carefully worded letter that states my concerns about the possible safety issues involved along with my severe fear of driving the vehicle under these conditions. Since the dealership has been aware of the problem and not been able to fix it, what steps does Nissan ? That I would very much like to have the problem resolved before taking further steps, as I am sure they would agree.

Or something like that. Send a copy to Nissan, the Nissan Factory Rep and the Dealership. Give them 14 days for a response. Then contact an attorney. Brakes are a safety issue and under CA lemon law a covered item.

No, she does not. A noise that she finds annoying is not grounds for a suit. Nissan will argue that the brakes are functioning properly and they have serviced it for free under the warranty, so she will get no where. You can talk to an actual lawyer about this by calling 1-800-lemon-law, but they will tell you the same thing I just did.

Shrimp Penne with Lemon Cream Sauce recipe?

There is a local resturaunt here in Fullerton CA that make this dish and it is the best thing I have ever tasted.. seriously.. Would love to try and make this at home. The sauce is the secret.. Need some tips on what to use.. I know 1 cup or so whipping cream.. lemon juice, grated lemon peel, salt, parmesean cheese.. what else am I missing? Even better if you worked @ Roma Cucina's and know the exact ingredients. ;)

From your description, I'd try adding lemon zest and a little juice to a carbonara. Classic recipe at:

http://www.cdkitchen.com/recipes/recs/1092/MamaMelrosesRistoranteItal70205.shtml

Penne lemon cream shrim

1-1/2 lbs. unpeeled, medium-size fresh shrimpp

1-2 tbls. chopped chipotle pepper in adobo sauce

2 garlic cloves, minced

2 tbls. veg. or olive oil

1/2 cup dry white wine or chicken broth

1 tbls. prepared mustard

1 tbls. Worcestershire sauce

1stick butter, melted

1cup cream

1/2 tsp. salt

2 tbls. fresh lemon juice

1 lb. spaghetti, cooked

1/2 cup fresh parsley, optional

1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

Peel shrimp and devein. Saute peppers and garlic in hot oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until throughly heated. Note: (you could and should slice open peppers to remove seeds to tone down the heat. Depending on pepper size, one large will do. You adjust to taste.)

Add shrimp and cook, stirring constantly, 2-3 minutes or just until shrimp turns pink. Remove shrimp and set aside.

Stir in white wine, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce, cook over high heat 3-4 minutes. Return shrimp to skillet. Stir in butter, cream, salt, lemon juice, cook 1-2 minutes or until combined and throughly heated.

Place pasta in a large serving dish, toss with shrimp mixture and parsley. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese.

Yields 4-6 servings.

1, keep in mind that it probably has about 1 tsp. corn starch mixed in with the heavy cream. This is to "stabilize" the cream and ensure that it won't curdle with the addition of lemon juice and zest, and it will help thicken the sauce.

I try not to use corn starch as much as possible, but when you mix acid with dairy, it is best to do it. 1 tsp. per 1 cup of COLD heavy cream. Mix it into the hc and then let it sit for about 1 min before you add it to your sauce.

I recommend:

1/2 stick butter

1/4 cup fresh lemon juice

2 cloves garlic, chopped

Lemon zest

Salt

Dash garlic powder

Melt above until warm and beginning to bubble. Reduce heat to low and let cook for 5-7 mins.

Chopped parsley (flat leaf)

1/2 package cream cheese

Add in cream cheese and incorporate.

Add in heavy cream mixture and increase heat to medium high and then add in parmesan cheese. Stir often until the sauce starts to bubble. Let thicken for 2-3 mins.

Serve over penne!

I have cooked something along those lines before. I used exactly what you listed, but at the end I added some fresh cracked pepper and some lemon thyme. The thyme added a nice flavour to round out the dish. Also try and use fresh lemon juice and some really good parm that you grate yourself.

I want the recipe for fruit cream filled scones!?

I used to live in Eureka, Ca and there was a bakery called L&L cookies, they have the BEST scones. She made raspberry, lemon, strawberry, marionberry, pretty much ANY fruit in a cream mixture, I am SURE there was cream cheese in them, and the cream was aquirted into a scone.

I would LOVE to have the recipe, or something simmilar, can anyone help?

heres one

Strawberries and Cream Scones recipe

1/2 cup strawberries (cut into 1/4 inch pieces)

2 cups cake flour

3 teaspoons baking powder

1/4 cup sugar

2 teaspoons salt

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 tablespoon orange zest

1 cup heavy cream

Heat oven to 400 degrees F.

Mix flour, baking powder, sugar and salt in a large bowl.

Cut butter into small cubes and blend with a pastry blender until it resembles oatmeal (or small peas, if you don't like oatmeal). Add the orange zest and strawberries. Then slowly and gradually add the cream while mixing with a fork.

As soon as the flour starts to come together into a dough, remove from the bowl and form into a ball. Place on a lightly floured surface and knead gently four or five times. Then shape with your hands (or a rolling pin) into an 8 x 10-inch rectangle. Cut the rectangle lengthwise into two 4 x 10-inch rectangles. Cut each of those into 6 or 7 triangles and place on an ungreased baking sheet.

Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.

Serve warm with softened butter, jam, creme fraiche or just as they are!

Sorry, it is not authentic so cannot help.
