Will a lemon tree grow in Daly City, CA, near 280 freeway?

I wanted to buy my mother in law a tree because she likes lemons, but it's very rainy and overcast there, being so close to the ocean. We have some in San Bruno, but it seems to be more sunnier there.

I used to live 8 blocks from the ocean in Long Beach we had avacado, lemon, orange and grapefruit all did quite well. I also lived in Alameda.

No problems with lemon trees there. Unless of course you are right on the beach They also have lemon tree orchards in Florida as well, can't get much closer to the ocean than that.

Citrus trees require a minimum winter temperature of 45-50 degrees.

You are in hardiness zone 8 or 9 should do well.
