Does the lemon law in Ohio and Pennsylvania cover vans that are bought used from a private owner?

There are only a few instances where the Lemon Law covers used vehicles of any sort, and all are when they are under warranty.

No private party sales are covered under Lemon Laws. All are "as-is".

**EDIT** -- ArmySis - The key words in the question are "bought from private owner". NO private party sales are covered under Lemon Laws. The links provided below (links to attorneys, I must add) all say the same thing: "SOME" used car sales are covered, and all have to do with purchasing from a dealer.

So, I called the attorney's office listed... and they said "sorry, can't help you with private party sales..."

I wish people would check things out before giving a person wrong or half $%@ info.

Please check the following sites for more information. One of the sites may be exactly what you need to get a free evaluation answer. YES the lemon law does work and is enforced in several states, but you will need to provide proof.

Hope this is of better help to you.

In Ohio and Pennsylvania, the lemon law doesn't cover used vehicles. I looked it up in my boss' book. He's a lemon law attorney in California. Our lemon law does cover used vehicles.

lemon laws do not cover used vehicles in any state (the only possible exception is California but even then it won;t from a private seller)
